Factions Build Help Please
I am making a ranger in factions, I have prophecies, and have a ranger going through it, so skills are no problem, but I dont knwo what my secondary should be, i was looking at either an assassin for reduction in dagger skills, staying pure ranger, or doing warriro and using ranger stances with warriro axe/sword skills. there are a lot of option i know, but what is everyones suggestion on a secondary and why? please help me decide if you can please, thanks!!!

I prefer Necro,Mesmer, or Monk as my secondary. Although I hardly use and skills from my secondary proffesion and mostly stay pure Ranger. I think they give should work well for you.

In pve, for 'general' rangerish type archery play I run ALL ranger skills - except for rebirth so /mo but doesn't really matter.
For some specific areas (jungle/shiverpeaks) r/e is really nice for kindle/conjure flame
Undead problems? /mo - judges insight
basically though, try them all... I've only gone melee ranger a few times, thumper is fun but never did a lot with daggers. r/n for touch ranger - works in pve too (even in groups - I used for dunes of despair bonus).
/mes is VERY popular - and that's how I started out in fact, but I literally use ALL secondaries now.

/Mo for rebirth is usually the way to go.
But really anything is about as good as anything else with a Ranger.

Ya i was thinking of warriro because i thought may be they would make an effective fighter, with the evasion of a ranger with the attacks of a warrior, and i have a r/n, r/mo is common but i could try that too, but thanks for the help, anyone else have opinions or anything to help me decide? or anyone tried r/w and have suggestions or comments on that?

i use r/a when I want shadow stepping, but thats about it. the r/rt has some cool possibilities, but I always ran out of energy as there isnt a whole lot of synergy with expertise unless you go communing... ranger spirit spam

Ritualist might also work since you can use brutal and guided weapon with barrage so it deals lots of damage and cant be evaded. also could use expertise to reduce the cost of binding rituals and use oath shot to recharge or use marksmans wager for energy management.

what would make a better solo character:
r/w - use of expertise and stances to avoid damage, elemental resistance
w/r - higher armor and life

I siwtched recently from R/Mo to R/N. I feel I can do so much more with my ranger now, he can be shivers interrupter/use spiteful spirit and mark of pain to deal aoe damage/use touch build .. etc.
So far seems like alot of fun.

you can play any secondary you want at any time. All you need to do is create any primary profession you want to play. From there you can create any build as long as you have the runes and skills.
So roll up a warrior. Then you can play a r/w and a w/r or whatever other r/ or w/ combo you want.
